Manchester City suffered another injury blow on the eve of their final Champions League group stage match as manager Pep Guardiola confirmed Tuesday that David Silva will miss three weeks with a muscular strain.

Silva is the latest player to be added to a lengthy injury list, as Kevin De Bruyne, Danilo, Fernandinho, and Sergio Aguero were also omitted from the matchday squad.

In fact, only 15 players are available for Manchester City's encounter against Hoffenheim on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium.

"If I could have one thing, it would be to get my players back," Guardiola told reporters, according to BBC Sport. "We cannot survive with 15 players."

The one positive on the injury front is the impending return of Aguero, who Guardiola said could be available for Saturday's Premier League match against Everton.

City already secured a place in the knockout stage and will look to finish atop the group with a victory over their Bundesliga opponents.
