UEFA is postponing two Europa League matches scheduled for Thursday due to travel restrictions related to the coronavirus.

European football's governing body announced Wednesday that Sevilla's match against AS Roma and Inter Milan's encounter with Getafe will not take place.

UEFA has yet to determine when the matches will be played.

Before UEFA's announcement, AS Roma confirmed they were unable to travel to Spain for Thursday's round-of-16 encounter because the team's plane was not given authorization to land in Spain.

Getafe president Angel Torres told reporters on Tuesday his team had no intention of traveling to Milan due to fears over the outbreak of the coronavirus in Italy.

Italy has seen a sharp rise in cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, and recently implemented nationwide travel restrictions and suspended all sporting events until April 3.

On Tuesday, Spain suspended flights to and from Italy until March 25 and La Liga announced matches in its top two divisions will be played behind closed doors for two weeks.
