Sporting events in Italy, including Serie A, Champions League, and Europa League matches, can only take place behind closed doors until April 3, the Italian government announced Wednesday, according to The Associated Press' Daniella Matar.

Twelve Italian football matches have already been postponed due to the spread of the coronavirus. Wednesday's latest numbers indicate 107 have died in Italy from the illness and more than 3,000 people have been infected by it.
