Eden Hazard will remain in England during Chelsea's trek to Greece.

Despite beginning the season in superb form, manager Maurizio Sarri has decided to rest the Belgian international for the Blues' Europa League opener against PAOK.

Hazard, who scored a hat-trick in Chelsea's 4-1 win over Cardiff City to bring his Premier League goal tally five in three matches, was one of four players - also including David Luiz, Mateo Kovacic, and Emerson Palmieri - who didn't make the trip Wednesday.

His omission from the 21-man team will allow Hazard to get a full week of rest before his club's next Premier League encounter against West Ham United on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Chelsea captain Gary Cahill is poised to make his first appearance of the season, as fringe players such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley, and Andreas Christensen are also expected to get some minutes at the Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki, according to John Percy of The Telegraph.

Chelsea's 21-man squad:

Kepa Arrizzabalaga, Willy Caballero, Marcin Bulka, Toni Rudiger, Marcos Alonso, Cesc Fabregas, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Ross Barkley, Pedro, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Victor Moses, Olivier Giroud, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Davide Zappacosta, Willian, Gary Cahill, Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta, Alvaro Morata, Ethan Ampadu.
