The defending champions are going home.

Liverpool were bounced from the Champions League on Wednesday, as Atletico Madrid stormed back in extra time to reach the quarterfinals of Europe's premier club competition.

With the Reds up 2-0 at Anfield - and 2-1 on aggregate - substitute Marcos Llorente scored twice in the first period of extra time to silence the home crowd. Alvaro Morata, who also came off the bench, added another tally late, giving the Spanish side a 3-2 win on the night, and 4-2 victory on aggregate.
